We keep the old traditions alive
Many years ago, the women of the village of Tschötsch would trek with their grandchildren to the Tschötsch Alm at the magnificent Puflatsch where they would offer travelers a mug of fresh milk or a schnapps.
We were inspired, among other things, by this ancient tradition to open the Tschötsch Alm in December of 2015. We grew up at the Tschötscherhof in St. Oswald amidst cows and visitors, and want to continue grandmother's tradition with the same passion.
In doing so, we are striving for a harmonious balance between agriculture and tourism. That's why, for instance, we insist upon the use of chiefly local ingredients.
A successful combination of traditional folkways and modern styles can also be found in our architecture. We've re-used timbers from previous buildings, wood from our own local forests, and combined them with natural stone and glass to create a unique and cozy atmosphere. The 150-year-old "Bauernstube" parlor comes from Pfunders / Fundres in the Pusteria Valley, and has a charming flair all its own.
